Fare Thee Well Saitoti, Ojode, Pilots and Guards

Early this morning, a Kenya Police helicopter crashed in the Ngong Forest. On board were Internal Security Minister Prof. George Saitoti, his assistant Hon. Orwa Ojode, two pilots and two bodyguards.

This sad news comes on the fourth commemoration of the death of two other ministers, Hon. Kipkalya Kones and Hon. Lorna Laboso who died in a plane crash at the Mau Summit. These two died on June 10, 2008.

The ill fated chopper carrying Saitoti and the five others was heading to Homabay for a fundraiser when it crashed in the Ngong and burst into flames. Bodies of all the six were charred beyond recognition.

We are mourning, we have lost people whose service to this country cannot be wished away. The politicians, Saitoti and Ojode, were each committed to their jobs. So were the pilots and the guards.

May the families of the deceased and Kenyans at large find the grace to move on from this difficult point. May the souls of the departed Rest In Peace, Amen.

Business Tips Kenya extends its condolences to the families of the deceased and the nation.
