Why Your Business Needs a Blog ASAP!

The internet is an invaluable resource to businesses. Used correctly, one can benefit so much by spending so little. If untapped, well, its like having diamonds under a grass thatched hut back in the village. Websites, blogs and social media sites are some of the ways you can use to place your business online.
Going through Facebook, it has been encouraging to see a number of small businesses and even big ones making themselves available to their target customers. Since most of us spend a lot of time on the internet, especially on social media sites, it makes business sense for businesses to have a presence where their potential customers are.

Having a page on Facebook or Twitter is good. However, it is not enough. There are far too many distractions on the social media to allow your target customers to stay for too long on your page. This is why your business needs a blog. On a blog, you have all the time to interact with your customers. There are no distractions whatsoever and when you have good content, your chances of converting the traffic to actual customers are pretty high. You can also explain your products and services in length thereby making them known to potential customers. The point is: have a page on the social media but use it to direct traffic back to your blog.

A good business blog must meet the needs of your customers. Before you do anything else, ensure that your blog is well designed and your content is good enough to sustain site visitors for a long time. Also, ensure that you stay away from hawking loudly on your blog as this is a turn off. If you have visited a blog and all you noticed was the desperation of the owner to sell you something, my guess is that you didn't stay there long enough. Selling through a blog should be subtle, not "violent".

Having a good business blog helps you boost your reputation as an authority in your line of business, helps you interact with customers, builds your brand, sells your business when you are not there, and provides worthwhile information about your products and services to your customers whenever they need it.

Don't worry if you don't know how to create a blog for your business or what content to post if you have one. Drop me an email and I'll see how to help you out!
